Course Syllabus

  • Introduction to Lean Management

This unit introduces the origins and philosophy of Lean, tracing how it developed into a powerful approach to improving work and value creation. You’ll also explore the basic concepts of Lean Management and how they provide the foundation for more efficient, effective processes.

  • The 5 Principles of Lean

This unit dives into the five foundational principles of Lean, a practical framework that helps organisations streamline operations, eliminate waste, and deliver maximum value to customers. You’ll learn how each principle guides decision-making and drives continuous improvement across processes and teams.

  • Waste: The Enemy of Lean

In this third unit, we focus on one of the most critical concepts in Lean: waste. You’ll learn to identify different types of waste and discover strategies to eliminate them, creating more efficient, value-driven processes.

  • Lean Tools

In our penultimate unit, we introduce four common Lean tools that help identify waste and uncover opportunities for improvement. You’ll learn how to apply these tools to create more efficient processes and better-functioning workplaces.

  • Lean Culture and Mindset

In the final unit of this course, we explore the heart of Lean: its culture and mindset. You’ll learn how people, leadership, and organisational values work together to create a sustainable, successful Lean environment.
